Founded by Cristina Morbi in 2018, Maetherea is a multidisciplinary studio operating at the intersection of landscape architecture, public art, and ecological research. Based in London and working internationally, the studio explores the evolving relationship between nature, time, and design.
With an ecosystemic and radically interdisciplinary approach, Maetherea creates performative landscapes and site-specific installations that respond to environmental forces - light, wind, rain - and human interaction. Each project is conceived as a living system in which matter and the ethereal coexist, activating immersive, participatory experiences. Time is treated as a design material: every work is destined to evolve, echoing the cycles of nature and fostering a deeper connection between space, people, and context.
From temporary installations to permanent public works, Maetherea’s practice redefines the boundaries between art and landscape, offering a poetic vision where the natural and the designed co-create dynamic, transformative environments.
